SEQUENCE G (10.5mins): Thelma has found her calling.ġ.07.3 Hal & Co with Darryl. They have fun and make love.ġ.00.0 Over breakfast Louise and Jimmy kiss goodbye.ġ.04.3 T. ACT ONEĠ0.00 Opening Titles: Landscapes that express freedom.Ġ2.00Ět diner, Louise is serving & advises against smoking, then smokes.Ġ3.00 Thelma at home, hasn’t asked husband yet for permission to leave.Ġ3.30ĝarryl patronises Thelma, humiliates her, she still doesn’t ask.Ġ4.30ĝarryl leaves in sportscar, shouts at workmen.Ġ5.00 T. Here is an attempt to analyse the structural dynamics of this wonderful screenplay and film. It is a fabulous movie and an outstanding debut script by first-timer Callie Khouri. I am a fan of Ridley Scott’s flamboyant visual style of filmmaking.Īlthough he has had numerous box office successes, in my view he has never equalled the overall excellence of THELMA & LOUISE (1991).
